A Meal to Remember
One of the first things we ask about weddings is how was the food. Food can create a lasting memory for the couple and their guests which can be good or bad. The last thing you want on the happiest day of your life is a bland wedding menu! Our Head Chef Eddie McDermott and his culinary team have carefully curated several wedding packages filled with culinary delights which are accompanied by fine wines. We pride ourselves on using only the finest, freshest, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible and our menus are seasonal. When you choose the A La Carte wedding package you’ll choose from a selection of starters, soups, sorbets, main courses, and desserts, all with our chef’s signature style. We are also happy to make amendments and create a bespoke meal to suit you.

Tulfarris is a winter wedding venue in Wicklow that isperfect for all seasons. Here are some handy tips to plan the perfect winter wedding.
One Venue
If it's possible, have your ceremony & reception in one venue. This will make transport easier in caseof bad weather and your guests can relax during the day instead of worrying about getting from A toB. Tulfarris is a flexible, accommodating wedding venue in Wicklow, set against the beautifulbackdrop of the Blessington Lakes and the Wicklow Mountains so you won’t have far to travel forwinter wonderland outdoor shots. You can host your wedding ceremony and reception in Tulfarris.
Prioritise Warmth
We all know how cold Irish winters can be, not to mention the rain and wind that go with them.Prioritise warmth during your wedding, ensuring you're as cosy as possible throughout the day. Ifyour dress is long, you can wear thick tights and boots underneath without ruining the glamour.Don’t forget your bridesmaids too. Have cover-ups or gilets and ensure they’re not outdoors for toolong taking pictures. Blue hands will not look good in your wedding album!
Beauty Prep for Bride & Groom
Chapped lips and dry skin are inevitable come winter. Prepare your skin and hair for the weatherweeks in advance of your big day. Look after your skin with a good moisturiser before your weddingand don’t forget SPF – yes, even in Winter! Book yourself in for a full body scrub and a moisturisingfacial a couple of weeks before your big day to ensure you are photo ready and your skin will glow inyour wedding photos. Bring a Chapstick or lip balm in your bag or pocket so when you say ‘I Do’, yourlips are ready for the most important kiss of your life.
Make your Wedding Cosy
It may be cold outside, but you want your guests to feel warm and comfortable at your wedding. Use the season as an excuse to bring warm cosy colours and moods into your wedding. Choose winter wedding favours, embrace winter wedding colour schemes, and make use of any Christmas decorations already in place in your venue. It will be dark quite early so embrace it with lots of romantic candlelight in both your ceremony and reception space. Add extra warm touches like a mulled wine or hot chocolate reception for your guests especially as they arrive in from the cold. Your wedding menu should also embrace the season. You could opt for a full Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings or choose an earthy menu that reflects food and drink that are in season. Work with your planner to balance your taste and the season.
Winter Wedding Photography
Hiring an experienced, professional photographer will make a huge difference to the quality of your wedding photography. In winter it gets dark much earlier and you’ll want to make the most of the little light you have. A professional will know where and when is best to shoot and make use of light and shadow to create a look you’ll love. Taking portraits before your ceremony is often a good idea in Winter. Have nice umbrellas on standby for outdoor wedding photographs. These don't have to be fancy; simple black umbrellas create a great contrast to a white dress.
Extra Travel Time
Give your guests, suppliers, and the couple themselves a warning about extra travel time due to inclement weather, especially if they are travelling a longer distance. Remember it will take longer to do everything including walking from Tulfarris Manor House to the main hotel if it’s raining – but we will be there with a golf cart to help! Don’t leave your other half waiting at the altar on your wedding day. Plan well and you’ll make it to the venue on time.
