WHAT DOES A WEDDING PLANNER DO AND WHY IS IT THAT YOU DO IT?
As the Wedding Co-Ordinator at Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, I am the first point of contact for our couples. I encourage the couples to share their vision for their special day with me, before showing them around & offering them options for their day that can work for them. I really enjoy my role as it is very rewarding to see the couples enjoy their Wedding Day with family & friends after months of planning.
WILL YOU WALK ME THROUGH A TYPICAL DAY (IF THERE IS SUCH A THING!)?
In reality, there is no typical day as each couple & their needs are very different. My days would include meeting new couples & arranging a viewing for them, chatting with couples over emails & phone & arranging details for them, confirming menus & arranging tastings. As well as final details & table plans as their wedding day approaches.
WALK ME THROUGH THE SERIES OF EVENTS BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY AT Tulfarris?
The initial enquiry will reach us either by phone, email from our website or just stopping by.
A show around is then organised to get feel for the venue and meet us, followed by a quote to the couple based on their specific requirements & a provisional date held if requested.
Once happy with the details, the date is then confirmed with deposit & Contracts are prepared & signed.
Various emails & meetings take place over the coming months in preparation for the day itself.
A menu tasting is organised for the couple 3 months before their date to confirm their menu selection.
A final meeting will take place a week before the wedding to finalise all details. Any décor items the couples have can be delivered to the hotel any time that week & we will arrange the set up as agreed.
Day 2 celebrations can also be arranged.
Our team are on hand on the day and in advance if required for any last minute requests or changes & the Banqueting Manager will look after the couple on the day.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY?
The best part of the day is receiving lovely comments from our couples knowing that they are happy with Tulfarris & happy that they made the right choice with their venue. It is lovely to get reviews and sharing this with the rest of the team who play a key role in each wedding.
HOW MANY WEDDINGS HAVE YOU PLANNED?
There has been a few! We would host over 100 weddings per year & I have been in this role for about 6 years now. I have enjoyed each one.
DO YOU WORK WITH A TEAM? WILL THEY BE ON-SITE AT THE WEDDING?
Our dedicated Operations team look after each wedding on the day and are on hand from the arrival of the first guest to ensure every last minute request is actioned & the couple and their guests have a magical day filled with treasured memories

HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU TYPICALLY MEET WITH CLIENTS DURING THE PLANNING PROCESS?
Each couple are different in what their requirements are, but typically we would meet the couple 4 – 6 times before their day.
WHAT IS YOUR SECRET FOR STAYING CALM UNDER PRESSURE?
Organisation & advance planning for me are key. Having all the details for the operations team & discussing this in advance of the day, helps the day to run smoothly and allows more attention to be given to guests on the day allowing for a more enjoyable experience for all.
