Your wedding day will be one of the most special and memorable days of your life. You should savour every single moment of it and enjoy it without distraction. Between makeup, hair and making sure your socks match it’s easy to forget let other little things slip your mind. Here are our top four things that you should remember for your special day.
Turn off your Phone
What could be more important than the day you marry the love of your life? Certainly nothing on social media! Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can wait, its only one day. Your guests and the professional photographer will do all of the hard work so you don’t have to worry about missing anything. You will be so busy preparing for the happiest day of your life and enjoying the party you have spent so much money on, you don’t need any distractions.
Don’t forget to eat
In all of the excitement of the big day, it is so easy to forget the little everyday things you need to do to keep yourself going. One of these is having a light breakfast. We don’t recommend a full cooked breakfast as this will leave you feeling bloated and full. Have a light bite, maybe a bowl of cereal, toast and some coffee early in the morning to get your big day off to a good start. Forgetting to eat means you will have low energy all day and will be hungry mid-morning (or mid-ceremony!). You will likely overeat at dinner and find it difficult to enjoy the rest of your day if you don’t fill up early.
Don't let the little things get to you
So the best man can’t find his shoes, the maid of honour has flattened her bouquet and the bride is running late to her own wedding… Don’t worry about it! You have done everything you can to make sure your day goes smoothly but you are guaranteed some small things won’t go to plan. Don’t sweat the small stuff! Trust your Wedding Planner and Bridesmaids to help you through the day and absorb all of your stress and worry. Focus on enjoying yourself and making the day as special as you can for you and your other half.
Take a moment
In between cutting the cake and the first dance, after the guests have eaten and all of the toasts are done, take a moment to breathe, look around the room and let the day sink in. Yourself and your new husband or bride should slip away on your own for a moment alone and take in the enormity that is your one and only wedding day. It is so easy to get caught up and let the day pass you by in a blur but try to stop and smell the roses. Some things are worth savouring.
