Trisha & Charles
Our Story
A little bit about you both:
Myself and Charles are both from Carlow and first met in secondary school. We had been friends for many years before getting into a relationship after our college years. When we got married we had been together for 11 years.
Tell us a bit about the proposal:
We lived in Melbourne for a number of years and every Saturday we would frequent our local park to grab a coffee and walk the dog. Charles chose the park to propose, he organised a beautiful picnic with champagne from my favourite restaurant. It was perfect!
What suppliers did you work with?
We had some fantastic suppliers and got great help from family and friends for our wedding. The Wedding cake was make by my aunt Tessie, baked goods were from our friend Martin and his bakery 'For Goodness Cakes'. The invitations were designed by John Kirwan, beautiful flowers by 'Soah Flowers'. Music was by 'BlackTye' who were epic. And lastly our amazing photographers at Couple Photography
The beauty parade:
I actually don't know the name of the boutique my wedding dress came from.
Suits were from Detail in Kilkenny.
Bridesmaids dresses were JJs House.
Hair by 'tietheknotbridalhair_'
Makeup by my fabulous cousin RebeccaKellymakeup
Nails by The Hair and Beauty Chalet
Something old, Something new:
This was a bit hap hazard, I had my dress for new, my sisters lipstick for borrowed, a blue garter and last minute my Mam put a 2 euro coin in my pocket for old, it did the trick.
The Big Day:
The ceremony was held in Tulfarris in their ceremony room which was lovely and personal. We got our photos taken on the grounds of Tulfarris and also in the Manor house, we were so lucky the sun was shining all day for us. Myself and Charles are both vegetarian and Tulfarris were very accommodating and had a lovely veggie menu, we both had Butternut squash for our mains. Our first dance was Tiny Dancer by Elton John, even though neither of us can dance to save our lives. We have so many memorable moments from the day, but I think it was the time we spent before the wedding. Myself and Charles took photos together before the ceremony and it was lovely to spend time on our own and gather ourselves before the ceremony and festivities really kicked off
Post Wedding celebrations:
We had our day 2 with with family and friends in Byrne's Crablane in Coolkenno which is owned my my sister Noreen and her partner Johnny. It was a lovely night with trad music and the next day we flew to Portugal for our Honeymoon.
Why did you choose Tulfarris?:
We chose Tulfarris for it's setting and also because we loved that we could get married there in a separate space to the function room. The whole day had a great flow between the ceremony room, to the manor house and then into the function room. Both of us and all our guests were so delighted with the accommodation and service from Tulfarris, we couldn't have asked for more.
