Our Story

A little bit about us both:

Aidan my gorgeous husband is from Cork but in Dublin many years, I am a true Dub, from Beaumont, Dublin 9.

Aidan and I met purely by chance almost 4 years ago.

I was on a girlie's day out and we went in to use the rest rooms in The Duke Bar just off Grafton Street, Aidan was attending a friends birthday party and we decided to have one for the road and then Aidan started talking and talking and talking to me lol. I knew straight away he was a very special man and he is the most amazing husband in the world. We are almost 4 years together.

Our proposal:

Aidan totally shocked me on Christmas morning 2018 by saying let's exchange our cards first, I thought let's exchange gifts lol! Upon opening my card it said to my gorgeous Fiancé?????? I said I think you got the wrong card and then Aidan said open the card and I was totally speechless (which takes a lot) it was the most incredible feeling both emotional and euphoric. It was a definite YES.

Our suppliers:

Our beautiful Stationery was gifted by my dad who is an expert in printing.

Our Cake was by cakesbyemma, totally delicious

Our flowers were breathtakingly stunning by bouquet was jewel encrusted and a dozen Red Roses for my mum with little diamonds in each rose, all flowers and button holes by Miss Daisy Florist in Artane Castle, complete geniuses.

Our Rings which I still can't stop looking at are from John Brereton Jewelers on Grafton Street, Margaret assisted us and truly made our experience outstanding, I genuinely can't recommend her enough and she is so honest and knows her diamonds.

Our decorations were outstanding and uber Christmassy and everyone was blown away from entry to Our Ceremony to the Manor House and straight through to the Main Reception Reception Room.

The tables were stunning and The Top Table was truly a show stopper, all thanks to the amazing Team in Tulfarris.

Our beauty parade:

All make up was by Melanie Meade from Estee Lauder, she is a magician! Hair by Amy from Peter Marks, these two gorgeous girls are a dynamic duo.

My dress was Couture from Tamem Michael, Paula King is one of the most talented people I know and she is truly gifted.

My bridesmaids dresses were Debut, shoes Carvella, and fur wraps by Jenny Packam.

My gorgeous flower girls were Debut also and our Paige Boy's suit was from the Groom's Collection.

Something old, something new?

Something old was my nan's wedding ring which I wear on my right hand, something new beautiful diamond necklace and earrings from Aidan, v special surprise.

Something borrowed was a beautiful watch from my mum, something blue is super special and something I have in my heart forever X a picture of someone who is no longer with me but had her picture with her beautiful blue eyes X

Our Big Day

Our big Day the 29th of December 2019, The best day ever 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💋

It was by chance that we were so fortunate to discover Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort and Manor House.

After we got engaged we decided we wanted to get married within the year and Aidan really wanted a Christmas Wedding.

My parents brought us away to celebrate our engagement and we made a booking to meet Honora.

Wow this is were the magic began.

We wanted an exclusive venue and wow Tulfarris has everything.

The Manor House is two minutes away from the main Hotel but a completely private venue.

As soon as we entered the Manor House it just got better and better.

So finally our day arrived and our Ceremony was held in the Manor House, which was breathtakingly beautiful and set the tone for our very special day. Tom Farrell was our Celebrant and combined fun and emotion to our ceremony.

Eric Ronan was our photographer and we were so blessed with our day, with it being the 29th of December the weather was mild and we got amazing pictures in the Manor House and also outside with the back drop of the Lakes.

For our starters we chose the delicious Warm Chicken Salad and Chicken and Mushroom Vol Au Vants, followed by superb butternut squash soup and then to cleanse the pallet a mint and champagne sorbet followed by the main which was Featherblade Beef (literally melt in the mouth) delicious vegetables and all the treamings, also a Fillet of Haddock, totally amazing, so fresh and tasty again with fresh vegetables.

Afters was a selection of Four different desserts and our beautiful wedding cake.

Our first dance was Someone Like You by Can Morrison, we fell in love with this song and every word meant so much to us and we still love to listen to it and it brings us right back to our very very special day.

For Aidan : Aidans says it was seeing my beautiful bride arriving to our ceremony.

For me there is so many magical memories but when we exchanged our ring's and exchanged our vows and being pronounced husband and wife and leaving the Ceremony with my amazing Husband X

Also having no brothers or sisters and having a super close bond with my parents seeing their beautiful faces and we were pronounced husband and wife X

Post Wedding celebrations:

The next day we had lunch with a smaller gathering of family and friends, we had to leave that night as we had to back (genuinely) for our honeymoon X We flew to Miami on the 1st of January 2020 for a week and then took a cruise around the Caribbean, the most amazing trip of lives and then back to Miami for the final leg of the trip. A trip now that we reflect on and immediately smile, the trip of a lifetime.

We feel truly blessed in every way but to get such an incredible honeymoon and not knowing that Covid was landing literally a month after we got home.

We are so grateful for our amazing Wedding and Honeymoon.

Why did we choose Tulfarris?

As soon as we met Honora it was such an amazing experience. Honora truly went above and beyond the call of duty.
The whole team catered for everything and really made our journey to our big day stress free and filled with love.
The Tulfarris Wedding Team are truly gifted and very caring, words simply can't convey how they made our dreams come through. The whole day went in the blink of an eye and this was totally down to the wonderful staff in Tulfarris.

In particular I would like to thank Alison, as two weeks before the wedding my gorgeous mum fell and broke her ankle and Alison was there for her throughout the whole day and genuinely went above and beyond, we are eternally grateful. With Tulfarris you are genuinely guaranteed that your dreams come through, everything and more came through for us. We had so many guests thanking us for being invited and now people recall that our last big gathering was our wedding in Tulfarris and that means so much to us, we feel so blessed to have found Tulfarris and had our dream day come through.
